19.05To the memory of William Barron for 14 years the much loved & respected headmaster, Girthon Public School. This stone was erected by friends and former pupils in testimony of their appreciation of his high character and faithful labours, and in token of their sorrow for his early death. He was born at Inverness 26th December 1852 and died at Gatehouse 10th November 1891.
